Today is World Autism Awareness Day

Our goal as specialists is to support the development of children with autism, help them adapt to the world, and foster their communication and social skills.

It’s important to know: Autism is not a disease. It is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects a child’s communication skills and behavior. Early recognition of its symptoms and timely intervention can make a significant difference in a child’s life.

How can a special education teacher help?

Our specialist works with children to help them not only develop language skills but also learn essential social abilities that aid in adapting to everyday life. Together with other professionals at our clinic, we create an inclusive environment where every child can feel comfortable and confident.

Key signs to look out for:

  • Challenging behavior – the child cannot express what they want, cries or screams when a walking route is changed or a game is interrupted.
  • Lack of sound imitation – no active or passive vocabulary.
  • No pointing gesture – to get something, the child uses an adult’s hand, cries, or screams. Doesn’t use pointing in daily life or respond to attempts to redirect attention.
  • Stereotypical play or actions – the child doesn’t use toys functionally (e.g., spins the wheel of a toy car instead of rolling it, lines up objects).
  • Doesn’t understand simple instructions – can’t imitate simple actions like waving or clapping.
  • No eye contact – rarely or never looks into others’ eyes.
  • Doesn’t respond to their name.
  • Shows no interest in playing with others or interacting with peers.

We believe every child with autism deserves special attention and support.

Our experienced professionals help children take important steps toward development and socialization.
