It can be performed at any time of the day. It is advisable to bring any previous medical records and wear loose, comfortable clothing to easily expose the area to be examined.

How is Muscle and Tendon Ultrasound Performed?

USG of muscles, soft tissues, and periarticular structures is not a complicated test. The patient is asked to expose the area for examination and to assume the appropriate position (standing or lying down). The doctor applies gel to the skin, which facilitates the movement of the probe and the penetration of ultrasound waves into the body. After applying the probe, tissues and organs are immediately visible on the monitor. The doctor may ask the patient to perform specific movements to assess the function of muscles and tissues in motion. The entire procedure takes about 20 minutes.
